MND Australia awards a record number of research grants for 2011 

A record $1.4 million has been provided by MND Australia for new research projects investigating cause, care, control and cure of motor neurone disease commencing in 2011.

This is more than double the amount of money awarded for projects in 2010 and about ten times the sum awarded six years ago.

 

MND Australia distributes funding for MND research nationally and this year applicants 15 applicants from every State of Australia have been successful receiving grants to commence their research projects in 2011.

MNDcare website - presentation at the Allied Professionals Forum

Carol Birks, Executive Director, MND Australia, will give a presentation about this website to an international audience at the Allied Professionals Forum in Orlando next month. This forum precedes the main program of the annual International Symposium ALS/MND. Her presentation will include a description of the website and its objective to assist practitioners to access best practice, evidence based information on a range of symptoms and issues involved in managing MND quickly and easily rather than having to search the ever increasing and confusing amount of information available via the internet.

 

A poster presentation on the MNDcare website will also be included in the main conference program.
